2018 Audi S4 vs. 2016 Lexus GS F
How-do-you-do Anybody,
I am new to the forum and this is my showtime mail. I am currently in final negotiations correct at present for either a brand new 2018 Audi S4 or a 2016 Lexus GS F with ~3,000.00 miles on information technology. I know the GS-F & S4 are not in the same class of car, however I really like the way both cars drive and feel. If I go with the S4, this would exist my first audi purchase, although I have had 3 VWs in the past. I was hoping I could go some thoughts from the forum on if I should purchase the S4 or GS F. Please note that cost is not an issue, equally the out the door price for both would be pretty much the same; then I am struggling to make a determination ☺

Japanese to German. Tough call. The S4, IMO, is rather bland in advent. So if that is of import, perhaps take another look. If I wasn't too tall to fit in lexus I would likely take a better reply. I similar the Lexus interior but they oftentimes look dated rather quickly. The tech on the Audi is upward there and nothing to scoff at. Reliability? No one can say on the S4, but my A4 has 25k miles and is the 17 B9 model. No problems whatsoever and burns ZERO oil. A far weep from where they were five years ago. Lexus has the benefit of reliability from a brand recognition standpoint. And the raw power available is squeamish on the F models.
I'll be honest, if I could fit in i without my head touching the ceiling, I would have bought an RC-F.

Lexus reliable , boring. Audi S4 not tedious, but I would wait one first year S4, as with all new models .

The GS F is a bigger and more luxerious auto. It really comes down to personal preference.

Total disclosure: I simply picked upwards a new B9 A4 on Saturday and love it so far. Having said that, that Lexus is bigger, more than powerful, more reliable (probable), and looks better (to me, at least). Honestly, this doesn't seem like a fair fight, and the GS F seems more like a competitor for the A7/S7.
Unless yous really want a German language car, or really want a brand new car...I think the Lexus is the clear choice.

I was 'swayed' by the premise of lexus reliability several years back - and later on a few happy years with a 335i had picked upwards an IS350.
After about a week into the car - I equated the auto to driving a refrigerator - in other words it felt like nothing more then a properly functioning apparatus.
The feeling (or lack thereof) is very hard to depict - and has turned me off to lexus completely (lets not fifty-fifty become started on the predator front end).
I know a lot of people 'swear' by them - but I felt absolutely no emotion while owning the car, and it lasted me all only a calendar month until (ironic to this thead) - I stumbled into the **absolutely** all-time car I accept ever owned, the b8.5 2013 S4.
I've had nothing merely great experience with the last 3 Audi'south we owned - from reliability to service and everything in between.
I'm not sure how the newer 'F' line lexus' bulldoze - but they were not even a close consideration as we recently ordered a 2018 S4 (at present for the wife).

I actually like the GS-F - it'southward as well the height of the line model as opposed to the middle tier of the S4. I would imagine they are quite dissimilar cars and people don't usually cross shop them.
Information technology'south the closest successor to the IS-F, which I have had a hard on for quite some time (machine gearbox ruins that motorcar for me, at the end of the 24-hour interval).

I owned a GS300 and a RWD IS350 some years agone. Totally hold with the "driving a fridge" comment. The owner feel was pleasant and both cars were reliable only I was pining for a more involving machine inside months of getting the IS350. It was reasonably quick just far more anesthetized than my B8 S4. The manual on the IS350 was maddeningly lethargic and the non-defeatable traction control a total joy killer. Lexus service was by and large good simply they did manage to mistakenly rotate the staggered wheels my IS350 front to back TWICE, non noticing the deviation between the 225 front and 245 rear tires!

From what I have read the latest Lexus's take improved a bit in terms of driving. I of the magazines said the IS can exist worst in class or best in clsss depending on the model yous get. I'm a huge fan of Lexus and Audi, I ain one of each. My $ would go to the gsf. That sound...

I've owned Lexus GS 350 and currently accept an LS460. I also own 2015 S4. For what information technology'due south worth you volition love a lexus. The quality, finish, and drive are incredible. So much so that I never thought I'd drive anything else except peradventure an M4. Nosotros'll I can tell you easily downwardly the S4 is the absolute near fun I have ever had in a motorcar! I was in the verbal aforementioned spot final year and wanted an M3 or an RCF. My wife said no 2doors due to our new baby then that was that
. And then I looked into an S4. I test drove one and bought it the next mean solar day! Coming from a Lexus back round I can tell y'all the quality is correct with them. The drive on the other hand is night and twenty-four hours. I put a simple APR stage ane melody and smoked an RCF a few weeks later. I've heard skillful things about the B9 and I'thou certain information technology is but every bit good. If you truly want to want to go places, do yourself a favor and get an Audi. If I were in your shoes today I would likely get the S5 sportback. Or even the RS5. Good luck
tho information technology'south hard to go wrong with either auto!
